I'm going to BOOTCAMP!

 Hello Blogger World.

I had taken a break from blogging until something eventful happened in my life. And this time I have chosen my FITNESS and my HEALTH. I've become more committed to my BODY and what I put inside it. This has been an ongoing committment for the past year beginning with the new year. I can say I have always been an active person. I walk everywhere since I take public transportation. I enjoy the outdoors and doing outdoor activities. In the past I've hiked, backpacked, water-rafted, kayaked, indoor rock climbed, skydived, you name it. I am a believer of trying everything at least once. Most recently I jet-skied in Lake Tahoe and I loved the adrenaline rush. I am a junkie for adventure as its in my nature to get out and enjoy some sun. I have committed to Pilates and then the Gym and finally practicing Hot Yoga. All these forms of exercise have made me realize how much stamina I have, the energy I can built and how rewarding the whole process is for your mind at the end of each session. I I firmly believe that a body treated well and challenged to achieve new heights is our own, personal “best body”. I read somewhere "[that being] Stronger or leaner may be a side effect, but the focus is on healthier and happier through living a fit lifestyle." Which is my ultimate health goal in the long run. The immediate results of a leaner body and building muscle is what I am striving for but I would love to live past 80 and this to me is on the right track.
I have signed up for my first bootcamp as a result of this. This all initially started with signing up for my first race earlier this year. The SF Giants 10k race on September 16, 2012. I am really looking forward to this as it was one of the things on my bucket list. I soon realized though I hadn't put much practice in training towards it. My attitude right now is I was just going to wing it. I am pretty confident in my running abilities at the moment, but I am up to challenge myself to go faster and finish stronger. Not out of breathe. LOL.

After participating in an Outdoor Gym with a studio I had bought a Gilt City voucher for, StudioMix here in San Francisco, I met a personal trainer, Ms. Gaby Miller the founder of Ab Fab Fit who I will be stating my bootcamp with. It's an 8-week, twice a week bootcamp named ACCELERATE BOOT CAMP. We will be doing a mixture of running and Circuit Training in an Outdoor gym in the Marina. You can learn more here: www.AbFabFit.com

I look forward to the weeks to come and the challenges I will face. I will be documenting my transformation and progress in this journey. And welcome your feeback. I am doing this at my leisure since I will have what looks like a busy FALL with school, work, and then working out on top of new responsibilities being put on me at work. Isn't that usually the reward at work when you do good you get rewarded by getting more work and responsibilities? I'm not complaining I'm looking forward to the weeks and months ahead.

READY, SET, GO!!!
