I'm having World Cup Fever this whole month of June. The world cup only comes every 4 years and its the biggest followed Sports Tournament in the whole entire world. Believe it!!!! Football or Soccer as us Yanks call it. Is one of the biggest sports celebrated globally. Some would even compare it to religion as it is widely worshipped by fans and their legendary players: Pele and Maradona to name a few. At games, fights break loose, the Vuvuzelas scream rivalry (the large horns and only sound you hear at every game) and the fans show true patrionage proudly wearing their teams colors. Not to mention HOT & SHIRTLESS men. I think I'm made out to marry myself a Football player. Haha. If I had to pick any athlete, football isn't definitely on the top of my list.
Last World Cup in 2006, I wasn't even 21 yet and the next one in 2014 in Brasil I'll be 28. Ouch! From the beginning to the latter 20's of my life, that's a huge growth sprout for me. I definitely will make an effort to go back to Brasil and celebrate the Cup in Brasil since they are 5x World Cup Champions, it will be an event not to miss. I will hopefully have perfected me Portugues by then =)
This Cup I am rooting for BRASIL, Kaka #10 I love him and I'm also rooting for ARGENTINA (Argen-china, as the Argies say it in spanish), Messi #10, their star player. As a latina I gotta show my love for all the Latin teams with the exception of Mexico. Not a fan and never will be----> Referring to the top quote. My native team from El Salvador is not in the World Cup this year, sad I know, but as long as we beat Mexico in our head to head matches. We Salvadorians are happy campers. Also supporting URUGUAY and their star player, Forlan #10 the "Latin Situation" as my fellow blogger, Susy, refers to him because of his KILLER ABS. *Notice the trend in all these players: all their jersey #'s are 10!!! Haha.
Here is a tribute to my excitement of this year's World Cup. Just the other day I tried to go find a track jacket to show support of my favorite teams. I peeked my head inside Adidas but no luck. I'm just going to have to special order them online.
Speaking of CONGRATS TO ARGENTINA vs. South Korea's game today. 4-1 baby. That's how I like it. I had to wake up super early today to watch the game. Local time was 4am. Yes I know. Eaaaaarly!!!! But well worth it since they did not fail me today. How could they with a coach Legend like Maradona!
My two fave teams =)

Girl who did your nails, I'm digging that. Oh and by the way I might have to take that look in your picture with the thigh high knee highs.
ReplyDeleteBoutzie'
Girl they're not my nails. I wish. I would love something like this though. Most likely its press-ons or cal-gel with hand drawn flags. Maybe closer to the Finals I'll get something similar done.
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm happy to inspire with my outfit choices. Thigh/knee highs are def in for this Fall and in a city like mine its a must. No matter what month of the year it is!
Well shucks I thought they were lol. I know the feeling, I normanly don't wear tips, but I would so hand paint those on my nails anytime, well maybe not people may stop and stare.
ReplyDeleteI live on the east coast, and we have some weird weather like seriously!!!. I don't like to wear stockings or nylons, but knees highs are my favorite. So looking foward to buying some and wearing them with vintage leather biker jacket for this fall and winter. ^_^
