When blue Skies turn Gray

The fog was rolling in the evening I received these booties from DSW. I had previously seen them on http://intheircloset.com/alexander-wang-freja-open-toe-laced-zip-booties/ as a A. Wang "Freja" look-a-like and they really are. From all the ones they had listed on their site, these fitted the description the best and for a fraction of the cost. Plus all the A.Wang "Freja's" sold out almost instantly so good luck to anyone still trying to snag a pair. 

I'm really happy with these booties as I don't own any other N.Y.L.A. brand shoes. They are really comfy that I lasted wearing them a whole day at work without any complaining. The sole is very comfy and they are a moderate height. My only tiny complaint is that one of the zippers started cutting the top of one of my toes, something that can be easily remedied with a bandaid or patch to prevent that from happening again. 

Another of my recent purchases seen here are my Karen Walker "Jonestown" sunnies. I am in love with these sunglasses! They are from the New Zealand designer who I've always been a fan of. Just like the fellow Dita Eye wear that Kim Kardashian always wears. I finally invested in a good pair of sunglasses with these KW's and am excited to sport them all summer. They are my own take on the very popular Ray-Ban Aviators that everyone wears. I was deciding if I should some Ray-Ban's or these. I'm happy I chose these. I like how they have tortoise shell legs and a gold finish. I also bought some Wayfarer looking like sunnies. The Karen Walker's "Deep Freeze," but later opted to return them because they didn't compliment my face shape that well. I was pretty bummed because I've been looking for a nice pair of Tortoise Shell Frames. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time!

Celebrating 15

This past weekend I made up for missing the QUINCEAÑERA  (Sweet 15th Bday)  my youngest sister Kats was part of the previous weekend, Memorial Day weekend, since I was in Vegas. A post about MDW2010 in Vegas will come shortly. So I jetted out with all my family to a family friend's Quince. And it turned out to be a magical evening of food and dancing well-spent with the family!

From the girls in my family I have been the only one who was fortunate to get a Sweet 15th birthday party. I feel lucky because I helped make it possible. It was the summer after my first REAL JOB and because of that I helped my mom pay for my dress and some of my accessories. Having a Quinceañera is like a happily ever after party where you get to wear the huge Pink ball gown, your crown, you have a court made up of your closest friends and everyone puts on their best suits to celebrate you becoming a young lady! Plus, you get the blessings from God on this important turning point of your life. Memories that I will always carry with me.

So for any lavish party I had to put on my best suit. I opted for a basic casual look and dressed it up with my shoes! Here goes pics from the night.

BLOG MAKEOVER

Hello Everyone!

I decided to do a Blog OVERHAUL and start fresh. My blog needed a makeover really bad and a whole new layout. I think this is what was prolonging me from writing anything sooner. It just didn't feel right. It didn't feel like me. So I finally decided to get off my butt and make some changes. I wanted to make my blog more engaging and portray all the things I really love instead of just a time-line of my life's events. I have a lot of posts I have to catch up on from May til now. But I think whats happened in the last month has happened and now that we are halfway through the year I need to focus on the NOW and share with you all the NOW things in my life.

My life these past months has been eventful. I am always sticking my nose on embarking on some new adventure and keeping myself busy. I am still a fashion follower and lover. I know that from earlier posts I said I would quit shopping...ouch...yes QUIT is a big word. Well I've accepted that this has become a really easy defeat for me. I acknowledge I am a Shoe Addict. Like Carrie from SATC I have a weakness for pretty and ridiculously crafted bad ass SHOES! It should be part of my Resume, "Quality's Include:  Avid Shoe Lover" because it really is true. Ask my sisters, ask my mom, ask my friends. They can vouch for me and state that I am a shoe lover and proud of it. So no need to hide it anymore instead I would love to share my addiction with you all with all the new styles I find. Since I consider myself an experienced online shopper! ;-)

Other items on my To Do for Blog list are sharing all the yummy places I get the opportunity to eat at, some of my weekend getaways and road-trips that I take every month (or at least try to). And the Big Kahuna of them all (cross fingers) planning for my EURO TRIP 2010, along with SUSY (my fellow blogger and partner-in-crime who's been on my ass about posting some new stuff on my blog, I love you =) Also joining us will be my bro plus some other friends. It is going to be Epic!

Say Hello to my new Feline Friends!

Just because I was one of the few to score the new Alexander Wang "Alla" Wedge Sandals in Animal Print. I wanted to share my new FAVORITE feline friends. I was sooooo happy to receive this package in the mail since they are a perfect wedge for a night out in the town and will transition well into my Fall wardrobe. They are my first pair of Alexander Wang shoes and I couldn't be happier. It's a testament to my shoe-a-holicism.

I was lucky to find these at a independent store from Brooklyn who actually ships ONLINE. Bird Boutique. It was nice surprise to open my package and it was personalized! "Dear Melissa, These shoes are so great! Enjoy them and wear in good health! Best, Chris" I will be sure to pay them a visit next time I go to New York!

Goodbye April, Hello May!

Hello Blogger World!

I know I have been MIA as of late. I have a lot of new posts that I meant to post before and never got to it. Forgive me, I know that's a lame excuse. So this is my attempt to get my blogging schedule back on track and make it happen. Ready, Set, Go!

Beginning with this past weekend. I had a really FEEL GOOD, Happy day with some of the BEST PEOPLE. I hadn't felt like that in awhile. Sooo happy, it might be that we have a baby on the way. Let me re-phrase that. I DON'T have a baby on the way but my friend Jocelyn. Her first baby, and It's a Girl! So you know I will be keeping that baby looking fashionable and crisp all the time. Can't wait for her arrival!

This weekend we celebrated her Baby Shower. And everything went well. Got there early to set up and was one of the last to leave to help clean up! That's what real friends do! After the Baby Shower, we decided to take a stroll down Telegraph in Berkeley. Susy hadn't been there in awhile and a lot of shops have closed since then. It was a pretty quiet day out I guess because it's not a school day and all the CAL students aren't home.

Susy scored herself some cute wedges ready for our VEGAS trip later this month! Work it, Work it!
