In a scene straight out of the movies, kind of morbid and wet, I paid my respects to the Cazares family for one of my brother's closest childhood friends who recently passed.
Life and death is a sticky situation because you might not be able to answer the "why's" and can't help but hold regrets of "what if's?" It's a painful time but one that requires healing and appreciation for having the time to share with that special person here on earth. I have visited the cemetery a fair share of times in the past two years, after my little brother left us unexpectedly. Instead of being a place of sorrow I now find it to be a place of serenity, remembrance and a beautiful setting for pictures. I like the juxtaposition cemeteries create, as many stories lye in each grave from those who rest in peace there for their loved ones to remember.
Leaving the comfort of home, my family and I headed up north to the city of Fairfield, CA (Cow town) for our dear friend Jose's burial. I say the comfort of "home" because every time I leave the city I feel like a foreigner. The day turned out to be rainy overlooking the pastured green fields and mountains. But that didn't disturb a great Saturday spent with my family =)
